If you are a landlord considering being involved with HANO please read thisnI got involved with HANO because I felt like landlords have a moral obligation to provide low income housing if they can and that is what HANO aims to donAfter a few years struggling with this public housing organization here is my conclusionsn Through a mixture of corruption and incompetency they are unable to fulfill their aim It is not just my experience but they will intentionally find reasons to fail you so they dont have to pay you For example the withheld payment for 3 months because of a cosmetic issue which was in fact fixed 3 months prior On top of that they are HORRIBLE to try and communicate with No one answers the phone and no one not even the supervisors will return your emailsnSeveral landlords I know are reaching out to city council members as it is clear that corruption is at play and unfortunately it is the neediest who end up paying the pricennIf you wish to provide affordable housing there are other ways to do so Save yourself a lot of headache and avoid this organization at all costs

To say this apartment is on canal street it is the worst apartment Ive ever lived in RUN Dont live here The people in the office are crooks Lisa Wanda and Valerie are scammers Whenever theres a problem in your apt Lisa will make it seem like your lying and the problem isnt as bad as you reported I had my ceiling in my bedroom cave in three times It would rain in my bedroom After three weeks of me finally emailing and calling they started to fix it and had me living in an apt with no walls ceiling or Sheetrock and told me i had to live there because they had no where else to put me There was plumbing issues My apt would smell like a sewer for weeks Drug dealers and addicts would roam the halls One time an addict came and knocked on my door for 15 minutes straight I was terrified The apt are beautiful on the outside and may seem safe but at night it becomes New Jack City Its a total war zone and the office could care less The office treats you as if youre not paying market rate and that youre on section 8 People will stare at you while you go into the building People break the doors down to get into the building People also have sex in the bathroom on the first floor by the gym The gates are always broken and children play outside and scream until 2 in the morning The alarms are constantly going off at random times of the night and the ring for hours Ive talked to several other tenants and from the looks of the reviews we all feel the same Get new management and get rid of the criminals living there and working in the office DO NOT MOVE HERE ITS A TRAP
