I am a student at Northwestern and thought Lake Shore plaza would be great given its close proximity to the school I am counting down the days until I move out There are many drawbacks to living here but I will list my main issuesnnFirst the laundry room is awful to use if not cursed The machines are constantly broken and the dryers require multiple cycles to dry a simple load One morning my partner said smoke was coming from one of the washers Its not a place where you feel like things get cleannnSecond the residents here are not respectful of their neighbors The hallways are regularly dirty and full of clutter and junk from other residents Neighbors and their pets are loud and noisy in the halls This makes it a terrible environment for students who spend long hours studying or people who work from homennFinally the second hand smoke is atrocious The hallways stairwells and even my own apartment constantly smell like cigarettes from people who smoke The management is ineffectual and wont do anything about it and dont take complaints seriously only distributing stop smoking leaflets every so often when someone complains It has gotten so bad I regularly feel sick in my own apartmentnnI urge any incoming medicallaw students to stay away unless you anticipate never being home more ... hide ...
