I found myself in an unexpected situation last year towards the end of summer and had to be out of my old apartment by the end of August By chance I stumbled across RentRabbit and the website seemed legitimate I prequalified for a showing met the property manager the next day or so completed my application online paid the move in fee and moved in at the end of the month The process itself was really smoothnnI would STRONGLY encourage anyone reading this however to do your thorough research before settling on a place to live Yes the only utility you pay for is electric which is wonderful but keep in mind the drawbacks that may come with it For my building at 5412 West Ferdinand there is no washerdryer internet or airconditioning must get your own UPS will not deliver to the building at all I have had one incident where a package of mine that was delivered by FedEx was stolen before I got home fromnwork and to cap it off there is a massive bug problem in my unit The only security offered is a buzzed intercom entry and Ive had periodic instances where people buzz my unit who I do not know or am expecting however I suppose this comes with the territory of a buzzed entry building Had I known about the bugs I likely wouldve kept looking but I was desperate to find a new place to live ASAP Quite honestly if it werent for the bugs and a need to touch up the building a bit its not bad but the bugs just make it an unsanitary place to live currently I should not have to invest my money and time in cans of Raid and bug prevention measures when it should be taken upon property management to ensure it is not an issue in the first place and the monthly exterminations have done little to help my situationnnThat said I definitely recommend RentRabbit itself Just do yourself a favor and look carefully during your apartment search before signing the lease more ... hide ...
