Looking for a temporary or permanent place to hang your hat I have an offgrid hobby farm that backs up to Daniel Boone Forest that has available space for someone with a camperRVtravel trailertent sorry I am not set up for a huge tour bus type RV but most everything else is OK The farm is located in Frenchburg KY Please google it for the area I am within a short driving distance from Cave Run Lake and Red River Gorge Frenchburg is a small town of about 400 people the town itself is hom Looking for a temporary or permanent place to hang your hat I have an offgrid hobby farm that backs up to Daniel Boone Forest that has available space for someone with a camperRVtravel trailertent sorry I am not set up for a huge tour bus type RV but most everything else is OK The farm is located in Frenchburg KY Please google it for the area I am within a short driving distance from Cave Run Lake and Red River Gorge Frenchburg is a small town of about 400 people the town itself is home to a Subway restaurant 3 gas stations a library post office Tasty Freeze and the local IGA Town is 8 miles from the property so you are outside of city limits Both Mt Sterling and Morehead a college town are approximately 30 minutes away Morehead is the same distance as Mt Sterling but the roads are windy and twisty so it takes a bit longer to get there Both towns are well equipped with stores restaurants mechanics etc This is a working farm so you MUST be OK with livestock and dogs There are a lot of resident dogs on the farm I used to run a dog rescue so you MUST be OK with that If you are not comfortable with dogs or livestock this is NOT a good fit for you The property itself is just two parcels away from a dead end There are two other families that live herein the neighborhood year round Otherwise there is no one else down this way The road from the old tobacco barn on the property to the campsite winds down through the forest via a hard packed dirt road It is very solid and dry easily traversed by car or truck This is OFF GRID there are NO hookups to the campsite There is water available at the barn which is a walkable distance from the campsite but still not something you will want to do every day I imagine Water is included in the rental However if you feel you might like us to haul water for you from the barn to the site there is an additional charge for that You must be selfcontained you supply your own power via solar or generator There is internet available at the barn not a satellite dish but it is only available at the barn At some point we will be renovating the barn to include a sitting room where people can go to access the internet and connect a video gaming system up etc but that does not yet exist If you want to access the internet on a regular basis there is a small fee for that otherwise you might want to have a satellite dish installed for your own personal internet Pets are welcome including nontraditional ones horses goats pigs etc however you are responsible for your own containment and care of them We will be finishing up the horse fencing sometime in the spring and then the pasture will be available to a renter free of charge within reason we arent set up to house 15 cows for example Rent is 275 a month or 10 a day if short term There is no set term for you to stay but there is a deposit required sorry about that we didnt use to do that but a few bad apples ruined that for everyone There is definitely a possibility of rent reduction either reduction or rent is waived IF you are interested in helping this farm achieve sustainability and completion You must have a needed and demonstrated skill for that to apply and we can certainly discuss that if you are ever interested in doing so Just a little additional info about the property the front section which has the ancient tobacco barn sits at the blacktop dead end road There is a large field that is open for additional livestock in the spring after we have finished fencing it in The driveway runs alongside the barn through the woods and to multiple sites within the forest if you dont like the one spot that is currently the best site available for larger RVstrailers you arent limited to that site but it is already cleared for use It is quiet peaceful and you are completely surrounded by the forest There are no lights out there think of it as primitive camping If you are not comfortable outside the bright city lights you will probably not like this type of set up If however you love nature and the solitude it brings you will love it here Please feel free to email or text me I do work during the day so I will not answer phone calls until I am off work and done with chores but I am happy to answer questions and show the property to anyone who is serious about renting more ... hide ...
