I lived there with my grandmother in the early 90s and worked as a maintenance man for a while after that but things have changed drastically since thennnMy daughter is a single mother and moved into Alco about a year ago She works PRN as needed as a medical assistant so her hours vary between 2540week but her hourly pay has remained the same The manager would make her bring every check stubs and adjust her rent every month Rent started at around 200 but increased every month until it was finally just over 500nnIm a disabled Iraqi War vet and I try to help her out any way I can The manager also told her she had to report any cash I gave her because it would affect her rent I can sometimes give her 2050 but no more than thatnnOn top of all that she was constantly infested with bed bugs Theyd spray her apartment but not the neighboring ones so the bugs would just come back after a couple of daysnnI finally helped her get out of the apartment and into another place She turned in a two week notice in July but the manager said it wasnt good enough and shed have to pay for Augusts rentwhich was over 500and said she was taking legal action to get itnnI see a lot of bad reviews because of drugs and crime and I understand theres not a lot management can do about that but they could ease up on the constant harassment like my daughter experienced
