Relocated here from NJ after being accepted intonFamily Self Sufficiency Program HUD nBeen here 7 months nWhen we first got here heard gunshots seen someone taken away by an ambulance nRecently bullets hit my window over the weekend and went through the front bedroom wall and thank God none of my children were hurt nIts low income housing so Im not expecting anything fancy But neighborhoods become what people make them out to be If the people want better they would do better nnThe trash left out in the grass by residents is disgusting Large dumpster bins provided in easy parking lot area for people to properly get rid of trash but they leave it everywhere else nnThe office staff are professional and nice But as Ive stated before if people want better and can see the potential for their living areas theyd do better Its gonna take the residents and office to get this place cleaned up for the better Just because its low income doesnt mean living values have to be low nnIve been around areas where there gunshots before and honestly it can happen anywhere People shouldnt have to live in fear or a mess

I want to be clear before I start this post I have no ill feelings towards those running this place The management team is fair and reliable However this place is infested with roaches Ive been here for 3 months and Ive been forced to live in unsanitary conditions They have treated this apartment every week since moving here and I continue to have the lingering of pests in my home My children are scared to use the bathroom at night because when they turn on the light there are roaches crawling around everything I was assured this was something they did not know however with the amount that Ive seen in this apartment since living here there is absolutely no way no one knew that this property had roaches The pictures below is only one instance in which I was able to capture the clear infestation on camera First they agreed to lower the rental arrangement due to the pest issue However as pests continue to remain prominent they do not feel the need to continue to compensate me as I continue to raise my children here They are now asking that I move because refuse to pay 1500 dollars to live with roaches They are allowing me out of my lease however with this current pandemic and trying to find a property suitable for my children all while working 5060 hrs a week is nearly impossible I know this is lengthy but if you took the time to read this in its entirety I would urge you make sure you check everything in the apartment before you sign your lease Talk to maintenance as well on the condition of the apartments The fact they are forcing me in a compromising position I felt it necessary to finally speak my peace Ive been patient and willing to work with them as my children enjoy the community and the schools for this area At this point I have no choice but to terminate my lease in the next 30 days and try to move somewhere else within reasonable budget Im a single father of 3 young children if anyone is reading this understand I can afford what they are asking I just refuse pay that amount with the infestation here So if you know of any additional properties that are move in ready or private landlords please reply with contact information It would be greatly appreciated Madison woods is not a terrible complex however my experience has been terrible I cannot say the same for every building but building 5516 has roaches bad One more thing the pest guy comes and lets me know that the issue was an apartment above mine that was allowed to remain in unsanitary conditions for over a year When I finally demanded that they service every apartment is this building is when they say they found the problem unit By the time anyone else moves in here I hope thy have pest issue under control but for now They cannot get rid of them period
