My experience with Section 8 has been both good and then questionable My first worker was Teddie and she did her job impeccably well Her attitude was one of tact and efficiency She treated me with respect as well as concern for safe adequate housing for my son and I However when my time limit was up I ended up not able to afford the 800 rent My landlord appreciating me as a reliable clean tenant reduced the rent to 650 A few months later he received an offer on his property he couldnt refuse and sold the house I had lived in for 8 years I had no savings and ended up sleeping in my car for quite a long time Homeless Alliance stepped in after almost two years and had my new Section 8 program expedited and I moved into an apt During this process I was in contact with my new Section 8 worker Elsa She was rude brash impatient and had no time to speak to me She lacked customer service friendliness and tact I heard so many complaints about her both on a personal level but also through the many programs I had been referred to the past two years The last two weeks Elsa spent at the Tulare Housing she changed her demeanor to friendly and then promptly retired A Mr Perez has since taken her place since July 2020 He is a nice fellow and seems to genuinely enjoy his occupation Section 8 is very much needed especially nowadays when rent is ridiculously too expensive to afford and on top of rent all our utilities gas car maintenance food clothing and medical I hope Section 8 improves in the very near future and drops the 30 of total income for rent payment down to 25 more ... hide ...

I have been really happy living here Almost three now Staff is helpful and they fix things right away Clean taking extra precautions during pandemic Safe and secure with a nice outside gathering area to mingle

Great place to live that has a laundry room TV room outside BBQ big kitchenand pool table big room for our get togethers and outside little garden an place to smoke ALL TOGETHER Great place to live with alot of Really good people and staff is AWSOME AND VERY HELPFUL
