So it seems that management at Lilac Ledge fail miserably at their job The recent water main break or so they say happened around midnight on 18 October They didnt inform the residents until 400 PM the next day that they were not going to have any water for about a week Now they had all day long to formulate a plan to relocate this building full of seniors and I dont believe in the scenario that they put forth that this was a water main rupture at midnight the night before The city was just as complicit in this fiasco as the building managers They did not offer to do anything for the seniors until news services found out about the problem Then all of a sudden they had Red Cross on the way So they waited all day and said nothing until the end of the business day the next day to tell people to try to find some place to stay or they would be put up by the Red Cross on some cots some where There were some of the seniors heading to hotels some were going to stay with family and others had no place to go The facility has its own transportation they should have been working all day long to secure blocks of rooms at local hotels to house the seniors The way they dropped the ball was sinful They had no consideration for these senior residents Most of the residents cannot afford hotels but they were renting those hotel rooms themselves The city shouldve been involved since it was their construction that caused the problem in the 1st placeThey should have secured a temporary water line before they started pounding the mess out of the streetLack of city planning is obviousThe city engineer needs to be given the boot Ive been a facility engineer for many years this sort of bumbling Three Stooges effort is so unprofessional that I cannot even find the words to describe it They need to be held accountable and they need to make these senior citizens whole again They deserve to be treated with respect and not treated like commodities

This place is absolutely beautiful and a really good space to create however and light of recent events they dont do a lot of help with the senior artists and getting them out of a point of scarcity when they are unable to create like they used to instead they are scaring them with notices and not providing any resources to the community for them to get the type of paperwork they may need to fill out at the point in their lives Its a shame that what was supposed to be such a great space for people to create has become a space for people to wonder whether theyre going to have a place to live or not because theyre not as active as they used to be
