There are not enough words in the English language for me to adequately describe how amazing this organization is I served on their Board of Directors for two years have been a loyal volunteer and donor for many years and have referred people in crisis to A Safe Place Online reviews for places like restaurants and retail outlets tend to talk about nicetohave amenities and customer service But what you need to know about A Safe Place is that they SAVE LIVES They get domestic violence victims and their children to safety against all odds They use the legal system and their own emergency shelter and apartment buildings to keep survivors safe over time They transform lives through counseling and career and life skills programs I have seen this work first hand and it brings me to tears imagining what the community would do without an organization like A Safe Place The people who work the crisis line staff the shelter counsel the survivors oversee the Family Visitation Center are all heart They go above and beyond to provide everything they can for people in need They even work with abusers to help stop the cycle of violence to prevent future victims and to keep the community safe If you or someone you know is being abused intimidated demeaned or controlled by an intimate partner please reach out to A Safe Place for help you are not alone My hats off to ASPs director and her incredible overworked staff for all they do to help tens of thousands of local women men and children

Being a long term resident at Woodstone Village I would like to finally give my reviewnnParking LotnThe parking area is riddled with speed bumps and one ways This causes people to usually go around them by cutting through the parking spaces and creates an unsafe environment for children to play in The surface itself is clean and well marked with distinguished visitor parking areas You are required to have a parking permit if you are a resident or a visitor staying overnightnnFacilitiesnThe weight room is basic at best sporting lifting equipment and standard aerobic equipment But its barely used so it can be considered a tranquil haven for those looking to get away from the daily norm The pool is small by many standards but large enough for the kids in the complex to enjoynnApartment corridors and facilitiesnnThe main outside door to our apartment building is always damaged sometimes not even closing all of the way It is very difficult to open as well It is mildly decorated with pumice stones along the sidewalk leading in The sidewalk itself is usually clean and in proper repairnnThe inner door leading to the individual unit floors always seems to slam behind you In our building in particular the basement floor inner door takes force to open and close The stairs sometimes have debris on them from people walking in and out but are in standard shapennThe corridors leading to the units are usually clean and well litnThe laundry rooms are community use The floor always has a minor level of filth and the majority of the residents including myself tend to forget their clothes in the dryer The machines themselves work but are outdated and beat up In order to use the machines you require a laundry card That can be retrieved from a selfservice stationnnApartment UnitsnWhen we first moved in our unit looked like it was thrown together Corners and baseboards uneven scoffed paint along walls and edges basic things that you would not expect to see in a supposedly newly renovated apartment unit The carpet was clean and looked fairly new The main kitchen appliances looked like they were in standard repairnnOver the course of our time here we have experienced many nuances that are out of the ordinary Our hallway lights and bathroom lights have the tendency to shootout just days after being replaced Our bathroom fans are always loud even after we call maintenance and they repair them The light switches in the bathrooms do not function properly often still providing power even when in the off position The toilets have a tendency to clog with even the smallest amount of paper in them The flush mechanisms were in constant disrepair even after multiple maintenance calls forcing myself to have to do a proper repair on them And the fire alarm goes off at least 4 to 5 times a year because of faultsnnThe list goes on about these nuancesnnThe staffnIn order to keep the peace I will say that some of the staff members do an exceptional job while others need to be removednnOverallnIts a hit or miss depending on what you are willing to put up with Being a long time resident we have seen things heard things and had many neighbors come and go But as for my final statementnnI do not recommend this place in its current state
