This property may be owned by Conlin but they are not the property managers youll be dealing with Harrington House and Oakview Terrace rarely answer their phone and typically have a full voicemail box so you arent consistently able to leave a message Most of the time I would have to call the Conlin Emergency line to get a hold of anybodynnI moved from Ames after graduating from ISU and needed to find affordable housing as quickly as possible I was so thrilled to move into a historic building in the Sherman Hill neighborhood It only took a day to realize how lazy the management company was and what their terrible communication really entailed Upon moving in and filling out my checkin sheet I made sure to note the mold growing in the bathroom the lack of any water pressure in the shower and how dirty my unit wasnnBY FAR the worst part about this apartment are the other tenants It may be a secured building but the amount of questionable individuals hanging out on the stoop and being let in the building was ridiculous Per usual around 1000 certain residents are drinking 40s of Natural Light and fidgeting uncontrollably on the front step The people out front definitely fit the stereotype of lowincome disability collecting drugs addicts These residents are clearly tweeking on some sort of narcotic and the police frequent this building a lot There is a CONSTANT smell of marijuana and cigarette smoke emanating from the halls At one point I even asked two tenants below me to please follow the rules and smoke outside and they started yelling at calling me names I know without a doubt my neighbor sold illegal drugs and I would hear knocking on his door all throughout the night He proudly showed me his marijuana plants and told me of nicknames in the building for who sold what For the most part I feel safe in Sherman Hill walking around at night but I am always really uncomfortable walking into my building in the dark Sexual innuendos and cat calls are a staple at this place On top of this I really appreciated all of the yelling from the wanna be gangsters hollering at each other in the parking lot late at night as well as the loud rap music that would echo throughoutnnFor nearly a month I waited before they fixed my shower pressure It wasnt once or twice someone came out and failed to check their work to see if the problem had been fixed One night I came home to find my bathroom saturated with water and my own towels used to soak it up I called the emergency line since no one called or left me a note and was told they had to turn the water pressure off in the building to check the leak Some idiot in the building took it upon themselves to go to the utilities room and turn the water back on while I had no fixtures in my bathroom thus water COVERED everything It wasnt until I called and complained about my soaked carpet outside the bathroom and destroyed personal items ie hairdryer curling iron makeup etc that they fixed it immediately and cleaned my carpetnnThen this summer my air stopped working I made my first of 4 complaints in May and didnt get it fixed until July And they didnt fix my air The compressor was broke and they didnt want to go to the roof to fix it even though the maintenance person said I wasnt the only person complaining about the lack of AC they gave me a window unit instead The whole time I was calling Harrington they said they never knew of my consecutive maintenance complaintsnnThis place may be in a beautiful building in a really amazing upandcoming neighborhood but the tenants are disgusting and sketchy and the property management is terrible more ... hide ...

I lived here for a year and so days getting to know people here and management To be honest nowhere is perfect and yet I can say the landlords do their very best to make this a place for everyone its a big impact on everyone The landlords respect us all but if you treat this place with disrespect and the landlords they go by treat others they way you want 2020-11-07T11:54:59Z
I lived here for a year and so days getting to know people here and management To be honest nowhere is perfect and yet I can say the landlords do their very best to make this a place for everyone its a big impact on everyone The landlords respect us all but if you treat this place with disrespect and the landlords they go by treat others they way you want to be treated and if you have a problem than basically you are also the problem as far as I see The landlords provide us with kum and go and do the best to help us with toys for our kids here giving everyone notice when things will be giving you more than enough chances to fix your own behavior Kids have 5 playgrounds to play on and a basketball court if they in the streets its the parents who you should have the words about not the landlords Maintenance people are not many but they try to come to your needs as best they can yes it takes time because they have a lot to cover here if you are complaining about it you simply dont know how hard they are working just so everyone can have a good place here Many call for lightning alarm pipes and other things so please be patient they will get to you You complain so much but dont see what I see how hard landlords and the maintenance crew trying to make this place better and provide you with everything yet people litter and leave stuff out and putting more tasks on maintenance and time away from helping you So please if you see trash on the ground help pick up create a better environment Dont throw shade because you teach kids here they too can be rude and act like mean kids Kids go by what they learn and see and if they are in streets its because they were taught that they can be They ask for food because they dont get much or parents are working and dont give them the care when they are home So start respecting your children give them the love help the landlords and maintenance workers out instead of throwing shade more ... hide ...

We havent even been here 2 weeks and I already know I will not be re signing the lease in 115 months This place is filthy the hallways look like trash The 2nd day we lived here I came home from work at 11pm and I seen a cockroach Called and she was suppose to put me down for them to check yesterday And they did never come AFTER WAITINY A WEEK FOR THEM TO SHO 2017-03-24T13:49:50Z
