Some years back I had phoned LBHA and requested an accommodation for my disability I explained that I have MS and that not only do my MS symptoms exacerbate in the heat but I also tend to pass out and for this reason could I please enter their facility and Wait on line for an application inside with the air conditioner instead of outside I explained that I didnt want to sound like a diva and that I really become very ill After being passed around to several different women I was eventually connected with the head person in charge who sounded very lovely and told me that they would accommodate me I had even explained I would be happy to sit on the floor and that they would not need to even find a chair for me and she advised this would not be necessary I provided my ETA and had gotten there a little earlier via Access Link and waited on line until the agreed upon time and then on what was one of the most excruciatingly hot and humid days of the decade 08212013 I called them when they failed to call me and was told that I COULD NOT COME IN and that there were too many people on line outside and if they let me in it might cause a riot No effort was made to help me in any way I was already on the ground too weak to stand and begged her while crying to please allow me to enter their facility and yes did pass out while being told no I was in and out of wakefulness and managed to dial 911 Praise The Lord for the LBPD and Ambulance squad they took me to MMC I did get a lawyer through Disability Services just in an effort to have LBHA pay for my MMC bills I NEVER wanted anything more than that but never made any headway and eventually I paid for everything because the LBHA lawyer completely ignored me and my lawyer and collections kept contacting me for the money while I was trying to recuperate I did receive financial assistance from MMC for which I was truly thankful but this required my visiting the hospital when I was still not well Not even the ambulance bill did the LBHA pay but eventually their lawyer got back to mine approx a year later and it was after I paid the bills My medical bills take priority over foodutilities and I requested a written letter of apology I received it and while I appreciated it at the same time now that I am older I realize how silly that was because they were not really sorry they were just trying to get me to shut up and in my heart of hearts I just wanted so badly to believe that someoneanyone within LBHA was a decent human being I recovered very slowly from this LBHA induced MS relapse and no no flowers were sent to me nobody ever called to ask me if I needed anything nobody cared I was never even able to get an application but this seems to fall under the definition of Divine Providence Some of these individuals are still in the employ of LBHA but I am not naming names as this would be regarded as inappropriate though I would like to do so more ... hide ...

Day time peaceful at night its block party central almost every night not a place to raise family The apartments inside are very nice Just make sure your prepared for no sleeping during the week and people sitting on your car
