Unfortunately moving here was a mistakennWe originally wanted a two bedroom unit but nothing was available but our prior lease was up and we needed to move so we agreed to stay in a one bedroom unit temporarily until the two bedroom opened upnnThe manager told us the one bedroom unit wed be in had been lived in for quite a long time prior to us and since we were only temporary they wouldnt replace the carpet until we left Ideally we were hoping for 3 or 4 months topsnnIt took about 9 months before we were told a two bedroom was available At this time we moved over across the property basically and we didnt bother doing much besides vacuuming the carpet as we were told it would be replaced Low and behold we got a bill for cleaning and an extra fee for cat urine in a room our cats never spent time in They charged us to clean carpet they had promised to replace We eventually made friends with and spoke to the next tenant in that unit and they confirmed the carpet was not replaced It was still shoddy and not even attached to the wall in several places the same as it was when we moved innnWe also had issues when we were moving out our entire storage unit in the basement had been soaked everything was covered in mold Even our cars interior which had a basement parking spot had small mold spots on some of the seats They didnt bat an eyelash and of course or was water draining down the walls into our unit not flooding so insurance refused to cover it Basically DO NOT USE THEIR STORAGE UNITS I heard from someone else that the entire basement flooded prior to us moving in cars were floating it was so bad apparentlynnThey installed cameras on the property while we were there too No notice or warning about the loud drilling directly outside our kitchen window for an entire day I was later told by one of the staff that all the cameras are fake Thats a huge shame because we witnessed one person break into a car while we were there with help from several other people living there we chased them off But I heard of several other accounts of break ins in the lots some 30 feet from our front doorsnnThis place is just ridiculous cost wise for the management you receive The maintenance man couldnt do anything for us several times my partner had to fix the fridge himself had to fix our balcony door several times etc One time our master bedroom walk in closet was damaged the ceiling caved in due to water gathering in the attic because the roof is faulty They took THREE WEEKS to come in and fix it and all they did was a tiny patch job the entire ceiling was still beveled in from sagging so long and no apology or concern that I was without a closet for nearly a month and out quite a sum in dry cleaning billsnnI would just avoid this place altogether its a huge money sink more ... hide ...

Looks are not everythingnnProsn modernn newern locationn amenitiesclubhousen The maintenance staff is awesome theyre super quick and very helpfulnnConnPackages Due to having over 20 buildings that look the same and repeat apartment numbers getting your packages is a nightmare During the holiday season Amazon even goes as far as just putting all the packages in the clubhouse some evenings Needless to say there has been many times that we have had to reorder items or request a refund because we never received the package Management is aware of this issue and had replied to update our instructions for Amazon Unfortunately that did not workn noise I could here my neighbor close their soft close cabinetsn fast build our garage leaked day one and was fixed the same water stains were back the following summern management lacks communication when our garage leaked we had workers knock on our door saying we are here to work we had no idea we had to move our car and where going to be told to park in guest parking this fix took weeks of random days with random workers with no Communication from the office only them replying to our calls The management way to apologize was a 70 gift card for dinner Which isnt close to the price we pay per sq ft for a garagesecure parkingn Snow removal Is a joke Our first winter we were plowed in with a 9 foot or more snowmound at our front door They have in the lease timeframes that they are supposed to plow by unfortunately that does not always get met This is due to the fact that they contract out snow plowing last minute every year One year the company was great and the other other company suckedn Move out we had the place professionally cleaned Did a walkthrough with one of the office staff who said everything looks great and received a bill for cleaning that was deducted from our security deposit It gets better 3 phone calls requesting photos of the two hours worth of cleaning they said was needed We need photos to show the company we paid and nothing Nothing for four weeks and countingn bugs in first floor apartments Every spring there is an issue with bugs on the first floor apartments lots of them centipedes and ants Even though this was a known issue we had to put in maintenance request every time we wanted our apartments serviced for bugs The maintenance staff is awesome theyre super quick and very helpfuln Dont forget about the birds that nest above your garage then they poop all over your car we asked the management if they could do an easy fix and put a lattice or webbing above the garage they said nonnWe had signed an 18 month lease dont make the same mistake we did This was our experience and I know others have had very positive ones I hope that the company is reviewing these and taking actions for others not to experience what we didnnAttached are some of the movein pictures Moving in there were bugs ants and A noticeable leak in the garage more ... hide ...

I have lived at Lake Forest one for 10 years now and am grateful to have a roof over my head At times it is small but I keep staying I have made a lot of new friends some have died over the years but I cherish the memories and make new friends Enjoy the time we get to spend together and have fun with in the summer time and during football time Hopefully 2020-10-15T19:06:27Z
