BEFORE YOU APPLY Application process takes two weeks before you find out whether or not you are approved They require an application fee per person an immediate deposit of 300 on the apartment to reserve it and a small service fee when it comes time to pay Nowhere on the website was there a disclaimer stating the deposit is nonrefundable After paying I had received an email stating the application fees and service fee were nonrefundable but nothing about the depositnnSince the process takes two weeks we decided to continue with our search and ended up applying for and accepting a new lease before we ever heard back about our application at Millworks The same day we signed the lease on our new place we heard from a woman named Meg that we were conditionally accepted We called and spoke to Shelly stating that we had to decline because we signed a lease elsewhere When asked what could be done about the return of our security deposit Shelly said We keep it It was never disclosed nor explicitly stated that the deposit was nonrefundable What if our application was denied If I had known the risk before applying to Millworks I never would have submitted the application in the first placennThis is a great way to offer lowincome housing while simultaneously taking advantage of those who cannot afford to live elsewhere
